FIRE-LITE'S IP COMMUNICATOR UL LISTED AND NOW AVAILABLE!
IPDACT Offers Substantial Cost Savings and Greater Reliability
NORTHFORD, Conn. -Fire-Lite Alarms, part of Honeywell's (NYSE:HON) Life Safety Group, announces its new IP communication module, IPDACT, is now UL Listed per Code 864 9 th Edition requirements and shipping to an outlet near you! For an IPDACT demonstration, visit Fire-Lite booth #1513 at ISC East in New York , September 11-12.
Designed to enable the transmission of alarms from a Fire-Lite FACP (fire alarm control panel) through any type of IP network, the IPDACT eliminates a fire system's need for two costly, dedicated phone lines. This simple add-on device can deliver significant cost savings to end users through the use of an existing network line (i.e. ADSL, cable, Internet) and one back-up phone line. Moreover, the back-up can be a pre-existing shared line such as one used for a facsimile machine or secondary phone extension.
In terms of reliability, the IPDACT's network connection allows for faster alarm transmissions, improving personnel response times. Central stations can also detect any off-line FACPs quickly, due to the IPDACT's supervised line functionality which maintains a connectivity signal every 90 seconds. The system uses Contact ID format but prior to transmission, the data is further encrypted with AES 512 bit data encryption - the most stringent form of encryption in the industry.
Made to integrate seamlessly with a wide majority of Fire-Lite panels, the IPDACT can be programmed to use either static or dynamic IP for automatic address configuration. On the central station side, a compatible VisorALARM PlusT IP receiver from the Teldat Corporation emulates popular receiver formats, allowing seamless integration into existing conventional central station architectures.
For higher redundancy configurations, the system supports dual destination IP receiver addresses, meaning all signals can be sent to a secondary address should the primary become unavailable.
