Fire-Lite Alarms Releases Fire System Proposal Assembly Tool
Lite-Configurator Program Helps Installers Design Addressable Fire Systems with Ease
NORTHFORD, CT - Fire-Lite Alarms, part of Honeywell's (NYSE:HON) Life Safety group, has designed a new program that allows installers to configure an addressable fire system and produce a complete bill of materials for quick, accurate proposals. The Lite-Configurator tool is a Windows®-based software program that's free-of-charge, downloadable from www.firelite.com.
The process begins with the creation of a customer account for each project, allowing the installer to build a database of proposals and installations. Lite-Configurator even includes a panel selection "Wizard" that recommends the most suitable Fire-Lite panel for the job. Once project profile information is entered, the user then rounds out the system by choosing from a graphical line-up of all compatible parts, including detectors, pull stations and strobes. If additional or alternate accessories are needed, Lite-Configurator will also advise the user at this point.
Throughout the process of building a Fire-Lite system, Lite-Configurator calculates the amount of power required. In addition to assuring selection of the right batteries and power supplies, a simple click of the battery icon will generate a full set of battery calculations based on the system's configuration.
Once system design is complete, a comprehensive bill of materials can be exported to Excel®. To ensure a complete proposal package, Lite-Configurator can also compile a full set of data sheets for all materials, given the user's computer has internet access.
"Over the past five months, we've demonstrated Lite-Configurator in Fire-Lite's free training courses around the country," says Bill Brosig, Fire-Lite product manager. "More than 1,000 downloads of this program have already been made from the Fire-Lite website. And the installers, designers and sales personnel who've used this tool have let us know how much they value it."
To begin putting Fire-Lite's Lite-Configurator tool to use for you, visit www.firelite.com to download the complete program free-of-charge. Any updates to this software can be accessed via the web simply by clicking the program's "update" icon.
